Championing sustainability – planting trees with Ecologi

Nov 12, 2024 | Blade News

Suggested by one of our agents, the Ecologi scheme is a social enterprise which exists to accelerate climate action. The movement now includes 24,000 businesses and 40,000 members. Since 2019 it has funded 80 million trees and has secured B Corp status.

Our involvement sees us funding reforestation of tree across the UK in a number of locations:

· Isle of Skye – restoring native woodland and improving biodiversity by planting native species and contributing to both carbon sequestration and habitat creation for local wildlife.

· Loch Ness – reforestation project planting native trees that will restore natural woodlands in the region. The effort here is aimed at combating deforestation and providing long-term ecological benefits.

· Scottish Highlands – various tree planting and reforestation projects. These areas are being reforested with native species to rebuild ancient woodlands, promote biodiversity, and capture carbon.

· Dumfries and Galloway – large-scale reforestation initiatives. The area offers a significant opportunity to restore degraded land and support ecosystems.

· Herefordshire– native tree planting to restore local woodlands.

· Yorkshire Dales – reforestation projects in collaboration with local landowners to increase tree coverage.

· Bristol– urban and peri-urban planting to combat biodiversity loss and urban sprawl impacts.

· Gloucestershire– rural restoration projects to create wildlife corridors and enhance local biodiversity.

In the past three months we have already funded 100 trees! Check out how we’re doing here – https://ecologi.com/theblade.
