Supporting Local Stories: RABBLE Theatre’s Acclaimed UK Tour Returns to Reading

As proud sponsors of RABBLE Theatre, we are delighted to share that their latest production, Glitch – The True Story of the Post Office Scandal, will be returning to Reading this month.

The acclaimed play, written by Zannah Kearns and created in partnership with University of Reading, has been touring the UK since 6th February, performing at 16 venues from Plymouth to Newcastle. It has received significant praise from audiences, press and even victims of the scandal including the play’s heroine, Pam Stubbs who was Sub-Postmistress of Barkham.

Glitch – The True Story of the Post Office Scandal was conceived in 2022 when Elizabeth Conachan of the University of Reading’s School of Law contacted RABBLE Theatre to ask if they would be interested in developing a story about the post office scandal. As champions of women and telling local stories of national significance, RABBLE Theatre immediately accepted.

RABBLE’s Artistic Director, Toby Davies shared his excitement about the production returning to Reading:

“I like to think that this production is reminding people of just how powerful theatre can be. Pam is right there in front of you, so you get to witness her courage, strength, sense of humour and sheer determination in the face of the most awful liars and bullies. She is phenomenal and it is the least we can do to tell her story. We look forward to introducing Reading to this local heroine.”

The play returns to Reading for the final run between 7th – 17th April. Tickets and further information about how the production was created is available here: https://rabbletheatre.com/glitch-the-true-story-of-the-post-office-scandal/. To support the production a number of our team will be attending one of the performances.
