We’ve launched our fourth annual Reverse Advent Calendar to support Reading food banks! Working with our team at The Blade, along with our occupiers and visitors. we’re coming together this Christmas to support food banks across Reading during the festive season.
Unlike a traditional advent calendar, where participants receive a small gift each day, a reverse advent calendar invites people to donate one essential item per day. By 18th December, all of the contributions we’ve received will be packaged into festive food parcels and delivered to local food banks, just in time to help households who need it most over Christmas.
This year’s collection includes cupboard staples and winter warmers such as:
- Tea & coffee
- Soup
- Biscuits
- Tinned meals & vegetables
- Rice and other non-perishables
A full schedule of what to donate and when is displayed on our campaign poster in Reception and other shared spaces. Donations can be placed under the Christmas tree in the main reception area any time before 18th December.
Supporting the local community is a core value at The Blade. Over the past few years, we’ve been astounded at the generosity of our team and our occupiers. Last Christmas, staff and visitors donated so generously that it took multiple trips to deliver all the parcels to the food banks.
By joining together again, our business community is helping make the festive season brighter for individuals and families across Reading.
