Choosing an eco-friendly office space: BREEAM and why it matters
Choosing an eco-friendly office space is becoming more important for many companies for a number of reasons. As well as helping support corporate responsibility, and reducing environmental footprint, an eco-friendly space can be significant benefit when it comes to attracting both staff and customers.

Celebrating the economic impact of The Blade on Reading
Since opening in 2009, The Blade has become a hub for dynamic businesses across the South East – generating jobs and opportunities. It has also imprinted itself as an iconic building, creating a striking silhouette across Reading’s skyline. But what about the additional contribution which The Blade has made to the local economy?

Is Reading a Technology Hub?
Reading has been considered a leading technology hub for some time, with claims that it’s Britain’s answer the Silicon Valley in the US. But how and why has the town achieved this impressive status? Here are some of the reasons:

Championing sustainability – planting trees with Ecologi
Earlier this year we began working with Ecologi to start the job to offset our carbon emissions by planting trees across the UK. The initiative is part of our ongoing focus on sustainability and our work to ensure that The Blade becomes carbon neutral. The Blade has always been a champion of providing eco-friendly office space. This year we secured the highest BREEAM rating for any Berkshire office building.

A Connected Location
Many of our occupiers want to ensure their office space offers good connections – for staff, for visitors and for easy access to other organisations and opportunities. So how well positioned is Reading when it comes to choosing to base an office here?

Making the Most of the Summer Evenings in Reading
With the summer evenings stretching ahead, it’s a great time to make the most of Reading after work. For those of us working at The Blade, there are a variety of activities to help make the most of the warm, light summer evenings.
