Reading has been ranked as the fifth best city in the UK for good economic growth. With more businesses moving into the area, attracted by a combination of excellent transport links, a strong talent pool and a booming economy, Reading broke into a top five place for the first time.

The Blade has welcomed Geotechnologies Intelligence (GeoIntel) into its landmark office space in Reading. GeoIntel is an independent consultant specialising in geotechnical engineering and geophysics. Following a period of growth the company has chosen The Blade to provide an easy to access, collaborative work space for its UK team.

Once again we’re supporting our local food banks with a Reverse Advent Calendar Campaign this Christmas. The business community at The Blade is being invited to join together to donate items in aid of Reading based food banks. All donations will be used to create and distribute food parcels to Reading residents who need to use the food bank during the festive period.

This autumn we’ve added a new service for occupiers – free bike hire. The Blade bikes are now available for occupiers and their teams to hire free of charge during lunch breaks. All bikes can be hired for up to two hours.

The initiative is part of our ongoing focus on sustainability and our work to ensure that The Blade becomes carbon neutral. The Blade has always been a champion of providing eco-friendly office space. This year we secured the highest BREEAM rating for any Berkshire office building.
